There is a lot of exercise for the over-55s in Amstelveen. There is an activity for every fitness level. Do you need help choosing a suitable exercise activity? Then make an appointment with one of our coaches.

AmstelveenSport has collected as many exercise activities as possible for the over 55s and put them in a brochure for you. All exercise providers are grouped per district in this clear brochure. This way you can quickly and easily see what is happening in your area!

Sports test for 55+

The Municipality of Amstelveen attaches importance to the health of its residents. That is why it offers a sports test for all people over 55 in Amstelveen. The test day takes place annually around the second Saturday of October in Sporthal De Meerkamp.


The sports test is part of the GALM project (Groninger Active Life Model). After this test you will receive a sports advice, after which you can look for a sport that suits you or follow the GALM exercise introduction program of 12 weeks. The 12-week introductory program is concluded with a personal exercise advice, after which you can continue with the 20-week exercise follow-up program. Then the second test will take place. Finally, you can continue the sporty lifestyle in a club or in the GALM group that remains.
The season runs throughout the year, the teacher is Michael Weber.
