Dear sports and physical activity provider,
We would like to inform you about a change regarding the planned Sports Café on Monday, May 18.
We have the opportunity to organize the Sports Café at a special and fitting location: the council chamber in the town hall. At the same time, we are in a period where the political situation in Amstelveen is still very much in flux. The formation process has not yet been completed, and it is not yet known who the new Alderman for Sport will be.
Precisely because we want to turn the Sportcafé into a valuable Meet & Greet between sports and physical activity providers and the municipal council, we have decided to move the meeting. This ensures that we can make good use of this moment, with the right representation and sufficient clarity to hold a substantively strong discussion.
Our goal remains to engage in dialogue about important themes such as the pressure on volunteers, inclusion, sports capacity, and the role of sport in health and well-being.
We will be working on a new, suitable date in the coming period. As soon as this is known, you will immediately receive a new invitation.
We look forward to meeting you soon after all and looking ahead together to the future of sport in Amstelveen.
Sincerely,
AmstelveenSport
Sports Café: in conversation about the future of sport in Amstelveen
The municipal elections are behind us, and the political landscape in Amstelveen has been reshaped. The results make it clear that sport remains high on the agenda. At the same time, emphases will shift in the coming years.
What does that mean for sports and physical activity providers in Amstelveen?
During the sports debate on March 9, it was already evident where opportunities and challenges lie. Parties discussed the importance of inclusion and equal opportunities, the pressure on volunteers, the need for sufficient sports capacity, and the role of sport in health and well-being. At the same time, it became clear that the way in which investments are made in these areas remains a subject of discussion.
On Monday, May 18, we invite all Amstelveen sports and physical activity providers to the Sports Café.
An evening in which we look ahead together and engage in conversation with the new Alderman for Sport and the new council members with sport in their portfolio.
What can you expect?

Precisely now, as the course for the coming years is being set, this is the moment for the association to contribute ideas and exert influence.

AmstelveenMoves is an innovative and user-friendly platform that helps sports associations, clubs and organizations to make their offering more visible and accessible to residents of Amstelveen. It replaces the current “Find your sport“ page and offers extensive functionalities such as activity management, promotion and a knowledge and news bank.
The platform combines an interactive map, a search and book function and a management environment (Clubbase). This allows associations not only to present their offer, but also to manage registrations, process payments and deploy volunteers more efficiently. In addition, the knowledge and news bank offers access to relevant subsidies, training courses and policy information.
The platform is being rolled out in phases:
As soon as the new date is known, registration will be possible again.
