The Amstelveen Sports Gala is the annual event where Amstelveen champions are honored. The awards for Athlete and Talent of the Year and the Peter Post Lifetime Achievement Award are presented, and coaches, volunteers, and associations are honored.

More than an awards ceremony

The Sports Gala is an ode to Amstelveen sports in all its facets. We celebrate the victories, but above all, we look at the passion that unites us:

• In the spotlight: an honorable place for top athletes, emerging talents, extraordinary associations, and the unsung heroes behind the scenes.
• Inspiration & Pride: stories that make Amstelveen proud and inspire young and old to get moving themselves.
• Sport for everyone: where performance, fun, and inclusivity come together; regardless of age, background, or disability.
• Amstelveen Moves: the stage on which Amstelveen shows itself to be a sporty, innovative, and dynamic municipality.

Theme 2026: The story behind the performance

Behind every medal, every victory, and every special sporting moment lies a unique story. From early morning training sessions and family support to the unconditional dedication of the club: this year we dive deeper into what truly gives meaning to sport. Expect an inspiring evening full of emotion, variety, and experience, and let yourself be moved by the stories behind Amstelveen sports.
